SLW visits children's home to share Christmas warmth (with photos)

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited the Children's Residential Home of the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC) in Mong Kok this afternoon (December 23) to show his care and share the joy of Christmas with the children staying there.

     Accompanied by the Chief Social Work Officer (Family and Child Welfare) of the Social Welfare Department, Ms Ip Siu-ming, Mr Cheung was briefed by the Director of the HKSPC, Ms Susan So; Service Director of the HKSPC Mr Mak Kang-ying; and the Superintendent of the Children's Residential Home, Ms Shirley Chui, on the round-the-clock care services provided for children aged under 3 who are either referred by court order, orphaned or come from families with problems.

     Mr Cheung then toured the home and participated in the Christmas party arranged for the children. He played games with the children and presented them with mini teddy bears and cupcakes as Christmas presents.
