Appointments to Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification

     The Government today (December 20) announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Professor Ching Pak-chung as Chairman of the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC) from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015.

     The Government also announced the appointment of four new Council members, namely Mr Felix Chan King-wa, Mr Andy Ko Kwok-on, Ms Agnes Nardi Kar-wai and Mr Howie Ng Ha-wai, and the re-appointment of another 19 Council members with effect from the same date.

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, said, "Professor Ching Pak-chung has made valuable contributions to the work of the Council since its establishment in September 2009. Thanks to his leadership, the Council successfully completed a review of its work since its establishment and submitted a report to the Chief Executive early this year.

     "Experts from different sectors are sitting on the Council. We are confident that under the Chairmanship of Professor Ching, the Council will continue to spearhead the development of Hong Kong into a testing and certification hub of the region. The Government fully supports the work of the Council."

     The HKCTC was established on September 17, 2009 to advise the Government on the overall strategy to grow the industry. It comprises members from the industry, the business sector and professional organisations as well as the relevant public bodies and government departments.
