Highlights of this year's carnival include a Sri Lankan fire dance, a Canto pop concert and Latin dancing with some 100 dancers. The Sri Lankan performers will enchant the audience by juggling burning objects such as fire balls and firesticks as well as doing somersaults, dances and impressive gymnastics. The Canto pop group HotCha and singers Ivan Lee and Regen Cheung will also give an energetic concert, while about 100 dancers of different ages will perform lively Latin dancing. In addition, jazz groups will sing songs at the City Art Square's Jazz Corner, adding a romantic touch to the event.

Other attractions include ethnic performances and participatory activities from different Asian cultures. As well as enjoying Indian, Indonesian and Thai traditional dances, members of the public can also join in the fun of Turkish erbu, latte art and fruit carving workshops, or have a taste of fine Indonesian coffee, Ceylon tea, Thai herbal tea or Filipino drinks.

Other line-ups at the carnival include a piano recital by talented artist Phoebus Chan as well as flute, ukulele and drum performances, dances, music, rope skipping, shuttlecock-kicking, freestyle bicycle riding, a marching band and more, offering a feast of fun for the countdown to the New Year.

The show reaches its climax at midnight with a pyrotechnic show from the roofs of Sha Tin Town Hall and Sha Tin Public Library lighting up the sky and celebrating the advent of 2014.

The LCSD urges members of the public to help keep the public areas clean and to respect public property. Aerosol sprays, metallic balloons and bottles are prohibited at the venues.
