CSSA caseload for November

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a drop of 1,258 cases, representing a decrease of 0.5 per cent, when compared to that in October, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 17).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 261,289 (see attached table), with a total of 396,774 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases and low earnings cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.6 per cent and 1.4 per cent to 21,447 cases and 8,998 cases respectively. Single parent cases also dropped by 0.8 per cent to 29,343 cases. Old age cases decreased by 0.3 per cent to 151,197 cases.

     Permanent disability cases and ill-health cases both decreased by 0.2 per cent to 18,436 cases and 25,087 cases respectively.
