Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui today (December 17) morning in which a 43-year-old man died.
About 2.15am, a public light bus (PLB) driven by an 81-year-old man was travelling along Jockey Club Road towards Sheung Shui. When approaching a secondary school, it reportedly knocked down the 43-year-old man who was walkingon the carriageway.
Sustaining head injuries, the man was rushed to North District Hospital and transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital in semi-conscious state and was certified dead at 3.05am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
