Creative minds from Hong Kong and around the world have brought their unique designs and art installations to the "2013 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Hong Kong)" exhibition with a mission to envisage the ideal city.

The exhibition at the Kwun Tong waterfront involves about 70 architects, designers, city planners and artists and is open to the public free of charge.

Hong Kong and Shenzhen have worked together in the bi-city biennale event since 2007. The project aims to promote closer co-curatorship and co-operation between the two cities.

With the theme "Beyond the Urban Edge: The Ideal City?", the exhibition provides a platform for participants to hold cultural exchanges and explore new ideas in building an ideal city.

Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in association with the Hong Kong Institute of Planners and the Hong Kong Designers Association, the exhibition is being held at the Kwun Tong Ferry Pier and the nearby "Fly the Flyover01" at the Energizing Kowloon East Office until February 28, 2014.

There will also be a host of fringe activities including movie-sharing sessions, forums and guided tours to raise the public's interest in design, architecture, city planning and urban development.

In Shenzhen, an exhibition with the connected theme "Urban Border" is being staged in parallel with the exhibition in Hong Kong.
