Road Safety Council promotes safe driving message during festive season

The following is issued on behalf of the Road Safety Council:

     With Christmas approaching, Road Safety Council members held the Anti-Drink and Anti-Drug Driving Campaign 2013 Kick-off Ceremony at 6pm today (December 13) at O'Brien Road in Wan Chai to promote messages on combating both drink driving and drug driving.

     The Commissioner of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol, Mr Robert Chui, and the Chairlady of the Wan Chai District Council's Development, Planning and Transport Committee, Ms Kenny Lee, gave speeches at the ceremony. All officiating guests and other participants distributed anti-drink driving and anti-drug driving leaflets to the public in two routes along Lockhart Road after the ceremony.

     The Police remind people not to drive after drinking or taking drugs during the festive period to avoid the possibility of endangering the lives of themselves and others.
