CE on duty visit to Beijing

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will pay a duty visit to Beijing between December 16 and 19.

     During his visit, Mr Leung will meet with state leaders and brief them on the latest economic, social and political developments in Hong Kong. He will also call on the Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Wang Guangya.

     Mr Leung will also meet with officials from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Finance. In addition, he will meet with Hong Kong people who work and do business in Beijing to keep abreast of their living and working situation.

     The Chief Executive will be accompanied by the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Edward Yau; the Director of Information Services, Mr Michael Wong; the Director of Information Services (Designate), Mr Patrick Nip; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Carlson Chan; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Nick Au Yeung.

     Mr Leung will return to Hong Kong on the evening of December 19. During his absence, the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
