The Hong Kong Observatory Calendar 2014 is now on sale.
The calendar contains stunning images, all taken locally in Hong Kong, that reflect the changeable mood and colours associated with different weather phenomena. The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Mr Shun Chi-ming, writes in the Preface, "I hope the images captured will also arouse your interest in cloud and weather observations and draw you closer to nature and the vast expanse above."
The calendar contains useful climatological and astronomical information, including monthly climatological data and special climatological events, the times for the rising and setting of the sun and the moon, dates of eclipses of the sun and the moon, and tidal information.
At $36 a copy, the calendar is an ideal New Year gift for friends and relatives. It is on sale at the Observatory's Resource Centre, the Publications Sales Unit of the Information Services Department and the Kowloon Map Publications Centre of the Lands Department. The calendar is also available through the online Government Bookstore at www.bookstore.gov.hk.
