Admission tickets for top cyclists performance at HK Velodrome to be distributed free on Sunday (with photo)

     Admission tickets for a ceremony including spectacular track and artistic cycling performances starring Hong Kong's top cyclists to be held at the Hong Kong Velodrome will be distributed free on December 15 (Sunday). The ceremony will take place on December 30 (Monday).

     The ceremony is being held specially by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) to mark the completion of Hong Kong's first ever indoor cycling track inside the uniquely-designed and well-equipped velodrome.

     A total of 700 admission tickets will be distributed free this Sunday (December 15) from 9am to 4pm at the box office of the Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground at 109 Po Hong Road, Tseung Kwan O. Each person is entitled to a maximum of two tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

     "It is certainly a not-to-be-missed performance," an LCSD spokesman said, adding that the Hong Kong Cycling Team including the bronze medal winner in the Women's Keirin event at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Miss Lee Wai-sze, and her teammates will demonstrate their superb skills and speed in various demonstrations of Pursuit and Keirin events as well as in artistic cycling.

     The works completion ceremony will commence at 3pm on December 30, 2013 at the Hong Kong Velodrome, 107 Po Hong Road, Tseung Kwan O. Ticket holders will be admitted at 2.30pm. Each participant will receive a wooden souvenir made with  track material bearing the logo of the velodrome.

     The Hong Kong Velodrome boasts a 250-metre indoor cycling track with supporting facilities of international standard and a multi-purpose arena. There are also sports facilities including a fitness room, a table-tennis room, a dance room and a children's playroom. Facilities will be opened in phases for public use in the first quarter of 2014.
