The Government today (December 6) announced the appointment of eight members to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2014.
The newly appointed members are Ms Linda Chan Ching-fan, SC; Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing; and Ms Wong Shu-ming.
The re-appointed members are Mr Chapman Chan Chor-man, Dr David Chung Wai-keung, Ms Amy Fung Dun-mi, Professor Angela Ng Lai-ping and Mr Alvin Wong Tak-wai.
"We are delighted that the three new members and the five incumbent members have accepted the appointment. We are confident that their experience and expertise in various sectors will be invaluable to the work of the Council in continuously promoting consumer interests," a Government spokesman said.
Ms Amanda Liu Lai-yun, Ms Irene Yau Oi-yuen and Mr Wilfred Lee Yuen-kwong will complete their terms of membership on the Council on December 31, 2013.
"We would like to express our gratitude to them for their contributions to different aspects of the Council's work," the spokesman said.
The appointment notice was published in the Gazette today.
