Correctional Services officers stopped a person in custody from assaulting another person in custody in Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre yesterday (December 4).
At about 2.57pm, a 22-year-old male person in custody launched a sudden attack on another male person in custody, aged 22, outside the bathroom. On-duty officers immediately stopped the assault and separated the two men.
Both the victim and the assailant were taken to the treatment room for examination. The victim sustained minor face injury and was treated in the treatment room. The assailant sustained no injury.
The case has been reported to the Police.
The assailant was serving a sentence for the offence of wounding, while the victim was serving a sentence for the offence of theft.
