Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session after attending "Hong Kong Forum" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today (December 4):
Reporter: C Y, would you encourage the public to take part in the political reform consultation that's been launched today? Thank you.
Chief Executive: Yes, of course. This is exactly the purpose of launching this five-month formal consultation period, which starts today. Myself, the entire Government, is fully behind these efforts. I would like to appeal to the Hong Kong community, to members of the Legislative Council, to the political parties and to all concerned in Hong Kong to work together. I think we should be accommodating. We should be rational in the forthcoming discussions about the methods of electing the Chief Executive in 2017 and also electing members of the Legislative Council in 2016.
