The Trade and Industry Department (TID) will participate in the World SME Expo to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Hall 1 from tomorrow (December 5) to Saturday (December 7).
This annual expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), provides a one-stop platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore business opportunities in the world market, and to find business solutions and support services to address the challenges they frequently encounter.
As one of the supporting organisations and a major exhibitor, the TID will showcase the department's work and support services to SMEs, including the Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS); the SME Funding Schemes; the Hong Kong Awards for Industries; the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee; brand development and promotion; the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales; the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement; and free trade agreements with foreign economies. In addition, business professionals and expert consultants will be invited to conduct pre-scheduled onsite one-on-one business advisory services for SMEs.
During the expo, representatives of the TID will also speak on the respective support services for SMEs at three forums. Details are as follows:

The TID and the HKTDC will jointly hold a two-day seminar series entitled "Ignite Your Brand for Asian Markets" on December 5 and 6. Experts and representatives of renowned enterprises from Southeast Asia and Greater China will share their experiences on branding and the latest business models. Details are as follows:
