The Art Promotion Office (APO) under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will hold the "Dialogue! Conference on Publicly Engaged Art Practices" on December 6 and 7, inviting members of the arts and cultural community from the Mainland, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong to meet and share their experiences with a view to offering practical recommendations for art implementation and encourage artistic creativity.
The conference is divided into two main programmes, beginning with the Public Conference on December 6 (Friday) from 10am to 5pm at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. The participants will discuss and study various projects directed or co-created by the stakeholders and artists themselves, with the aim of assessing the feasibility of implementing these project modes in the actual environment. About 70 seats are available for the Public Conference, which will be conducted mainly in Cantonese and Putonghua. Simultaneous interpretation in English, Putonghua and Cantonese will be provided.
The Network Workshop will be held on December 7 (Saturday) from 10am to 3.30pm at Oi!. The Network Workshop is an occasion for art practitioners to encourage discussion and exchange on publicly engaged art practices. The workshop is divided into three groups with 25 seats available for each group, and will be conducted mainly in Cantonese. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
