The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (December 2) that the following leisure and sports facilities will be temporarily closed:
(a) The arena of Tai Wo Sports Centre in Tai Po District will be temporarily closed from December 9 to February 17, 2014 for renovation works. Other facilities in the sports centre will remain open as usual. During the closure period, the public may use similar facilities at the nearby Tai Po Hui Sports Centre, Tai Po Sports Centre, Fu Heng Sports Centre and Fu Shin Sports Centre.
(b) Squash court No. 2 at Boundary Street Sports Centre No. 2 in Yau Tsim Mong District will be temporarily closed from December 30 to January 23, 2014, while squash court Nos. 1, 3 and 4 and the activity room will be temporarily closed from January 6 to 15, 2014 for improvement work to the air conditioning system. Other facilities in the sports centre will remain open as usual. During the closure period, the public may use similar facilities at the nearby Fa Yuen Street Sports Centre and Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre.
In addition, the following grass pitches will be temporarily closed for turf maintenance works:
(a) The grass pitch at Tin Shui Wai Sports Ground in Yuen Long District will be temporarily closed from December 15 to January 4, 2014. During the closure period, the public may use the nearby Yuen Long Stadium.
(b) The grass pitch at Tsing Yi Sports Ground in Kwai Tsing District will be temporarily closed from December 20 to January 2, 2014, while the running track will remain open as usual. During the closure period, the public may use the nearby Kwai Chung Sports Ground and Wo Yi Hop Road Sports Ground.
(c) The grass pitch at Tsuen Wan Riveria Park in Tsuen Wan District will be temporarily closed from January 6 to 21, 2014. During the closure period, the public may use the nearby Shing Mun Valley Sports Ground.
(d) The grass pitch at Yuen Long Stadium in Yuen Long District will be temporarily closed from January 10 to 30, 2014. During the closure period, the public may use the nearby Tin Shui Wai Sports Ground.
