Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after officiating at the opening ceremony of the Centenary Conference of Government Laboratory this morning (December 2):
Secretary for Food and Health: In these one or two days, the Hospital Authority will start providing (free 13-valent Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine) to paediatric patients who have higher risks according to clinical assessment. These children mainly belong to groups who might have certain diseases causing a compromise of their immune system. The Hospital Authority will make arrangement in accordance with their originally scheduled follow-up consultation sessions. For those (patients) who have to wait for a longer time for their originally scheduled follow-up (consultation), a separate arrangement will be made by the Hospital Authority.
