The Government announced today (November 29) the re-appointment of four serving members and the appointment of two new members to the Hospital Authority for two years with effect from December 1, 2013.
Mr Cheng Yan-kee, Mr Andy Lau Kwok-fai, Mrs Margaret Leung Ko May-yee and Mr Patrick Ma Ching-hang are re-appointed. The new members are Mr Andrew Fung Hau-chung and Mr Stephen Lee Hoi-yin. Following are brief biographies of the two new members:
Mr Andrew Fung Hau-chung is the Executive Director of a bank. He is now serving as a member on a number of boards/committees, including the Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Energy Advisory Committee and the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund Board.
Mr Stephen Lee Hoi-yin is an accountant. He is currently the President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Hong Kong Ltd and an adjunct associate professor in the Faculty of Business Administration of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, welcomed the new members to the Authority. He also thanked the outgoing members, Mr Benjamin Hung Pi-cheng and Ms Yvonne Shing Mo-han, for their advice and contribution to the Hospital Authority over the years. They will retire from the Hospital Authority with effect from December 1, 2013.
The Hospital Authority, as from December 1, 2013, will comprise a chairman, 23 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the Hospital Authority. The new membership list is as follows:
