Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan this morning (November 28) in which a 12-year-old boy was killed.
About 7.07am, a private car driven by a 46-year-old man was travelling along Sai Sha Road towards Sha Tin. When approaching near Nga Yiu Tau Village, it reportedly knocked down the 12-year-old boy who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the boy was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 7.39am.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
