"ECHOA" by Arcosm Company to show the passion of percussion and dance
************************************************************

The Arcosm Company from France will combine percussion and dance in their performance of "ECHOA" next January. The show will offer the audience an experience in which they will "see" music with their eyes and "listen" to dance with their ears.

"ECHOA" aims at sharpening the musicality of dancing as well as underlining musical choreography. The four performers express themselves in uncommon ways, sharing common points and pushing against boundaries as they perform. Seven short scenes reveal the artists' unfamiliar journey and show their passion for performance.

The Arcosm Company was established in 2001 and links up the different artistic disciplines of music, dance and singing. The artists are required not only to use their personal skills, but also to explore less familiar areas of artistic expression. These new ways of expression create breakthroughs in sensitivity and emotions in theatre, and in so doing achieve the company's objective. The group has given more than 800 performances of "ECHOA" around the world, enchanting audiences from France, Poland and Germany to Japan and South Korea.

"ECHOA" is one of the attractions of the "Cheers!" series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 8pm on January 10 to 12 (Friday to Sunday) and at 3pm on January 12 (Sunday) at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
