Ji Guang Holding Co Ltd (Ji Guang) from Taiwan opened its first store in Hong Kong today (November 20), as part of its expansion plan in Asia.

With a history of 40 years of making Taiwanese fried chicken, Ji Guang aims to globalise its business. Following successful expansion in Mainland China and Singapore, the company's first store in Hong Kong is an important step in its 2013 expansion strategy. The new store at The Lane shopping mall, above Hang Hau MTR station, offers steady customer demand from the local mix of shopping, commercial and residential areas.

The Deputy General Manager of Ji Guang, Mr Horbin Ho, said, "Hong Kong is both an international city and a diners' paradise, which makes it a perfect platform for our globalisation strategy. That's why we chose Hong Kong as our regional headquarters and to co-operate with Hong Kong's Kata F&B Ltd to help us promote Taiwanese cuisine to the world.

"Hong Kong and Taiwan have close ties and people travel a lot between the two places, hence our products have long been well-known among Hong Kong people. This loyalty means that Hong Kong is a big market for our brand. It is our commitment to bring to Hong Kong customers the genuine Ji Guang fried chicken, with its high quality of ingredients and services," said Mr Ho.

The Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion, Mr Andrew Davis, welcomed Ji Guang's first store in Hong Kong. He said, "Hong Kong receives nearly 50 million international and Mainland visitors a year, which means excellent brand exposure for companies like Ji Guang which aim at the global market. We wish Ji Guang every success with its business in Hong Kong and look forward to seeing its future expansion soon."
