The Legislative Council (LegCo) Finance Committee (FC) will hold a meeting at 4.30pm tomorrow (November 15) in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.
During the meeting, members of the FC will examine and approve a supplementary provision of $40 million to enable an injection into the Disaster Relief Fund to address the need for grants for providing emergency relief to the typhoon victims in the Philippines, and to meet other possible calls for grants to relief organisations for disaster relief in the remainder of the 2013-2014 financial year. FC members will also examine and approve the creation of a new commitment of $18.8 million for providing a one-off subsidy to assist private refuse collection vehicle owners to retrofit their vehicles for meeting the new equipment standards; and funding proposals related to land acquisition.
