HAB accepts recommendations of Audit Commission
***********************************************

The Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) generally accepts the recommendations contained in the Director of Audit's Report No. 61 with regard to the monitoring of Private Recreational Leases (PRLs).

An HAB spokesman today (November 13) said, "We recognise that there is room for improvement in monitoring the opening up of lessees' facilities to outside bodies, publicising the opening-up arrangements and monitoring usage by outside bodies. As regards the technical issues raised by the Audit Commission, we will follow up with relevant government bureaux and departments, including the Lands Department."

The HAB briefed the Legislative Council Panel on Home Affairs on matters relating to PRLs in June 2013, and made a commitment to conducting a comprehensive review of the policy on PRLs. The bureau will take account of the Audit Commission's recommendations during the review process.
