Fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Castle Peak this morning (November 8) in which a 77-year-old man died.

     About 8.50am, a Light Rail train driven by a 30-year-old man was travelling along Wu Chui Road towards Lung Mun Road. When approaching near Melody Garden Station, the train reportedly knocked down the 77-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.47pm

     Investigations will be conducted by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
