The open auction for stalls at the 2014 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair concluded smoothly today (November 6). The total revenue was $13,884,720 compared with $11,768,570 last year.
A total of 475 stalls at the Fair, including 284 for dry goods, 180 for wet goods, eight for thematic dry goods and three for fast food, were successfully let out during the open auction at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
Together with yesterday's auction, the successful bids for the dry goods stall prices ranged from $18,700 to $110,000 and averaged out to $32,017. The highest bid of $110,000 was about nine times the opening price of $12,030.
The auction of dry goods stalls fetched a total of $9,092,900, compared with $7,732,500 last year.
The auction attracted over 2 900 participants in total.
Auctions for stalls at the four Lunar New Year fairs in Kowloon will start next Tuesday (November 12) at the same venue.
