A total of 210 dry goods stalls and eight thematic dry goods stalls were successfully let on the second day auction for stalls at the 2014 Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair today (November 5).
About 2050 people attended the auction at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai from 9am to 9.05pm today, a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.
The average bid price for the dry goods stalls today was $33,460, with the successful bids ranging from $21,000 to $110,000. The highest bid today, $110,000, was about nine times the opening price of $12,030.
The successful bids of the eight thematic dry goods stalls ranged from $61,000 to $101,000, with an average of $74,838, against an opening price of $35,230.
The auction for the remaining 74 dry goods stalls will be held at 9am tomorrow (November 6) at the same venue.
