The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, will visit Beijing from next Monday (November 4) to Wednesday (November 6) for meetings with the relevant Central Government officials to discuss issues of mutual concern.
During his stay in Beijing, Mr Tsang will visit various departments and organisations of the Central People's Government, including the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the People's Bank of China, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr Norman Chan, will join Mr Tsang in Beijing.
Mr Tsang will return to Hong Kong on Wednesday. In his absence, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will act as Financial Secretary.
