The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) today (October 30) reminded interested parties that auctions for stalls at the 2014 Lunar New Year (LNY) fairs on Hong Kong Island, in Islands District and Kowloon will start next Monday (November 4).
The Victoria Park LNY Fair in Eastern District, Hong Kong Island accommodates 180 wet goods stalls, 284 dry goods stalls, eight thematic stalls and three fast food stalls for bidding.
The LNY fair in Islands District will be held at Tung Chung Soccer Pitch, Lantau Island, with 12 wet goods stalls, 10 dry goods stalls and one fast food stall.
The four Kowloon LNY fairs will be held at Fa Hui Park and Cheung Sha Wan Playground in Sham Shui Po, Morse Park in Wong Tai Sin and Hong Ning Road Recreation Ground in Kwun Tong, with a total of 322 wet goods stalls, 240 dry goods stalls and eight fast food stalls.
All auctions for the stalls in will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, 18 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai. The auction sessions are scheduled from 9am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4.45pm.

Bidders for LNY fair stalls must be at least 18 years old and ordinary residents in Hong Kong.
Anyone can bid for more than one stall. A bidder must pay the bid price and register in his or her own name as the licensee of the stall immediately after successfully bidding for a stall. The bidder is also required to sign at once an express warranty and a licence agreement with the FEHD, or they will forfeit the rights to operate the stall.
An FEHD spokesman said that successful bidders shall comply with all the stipulations and provisions as set out in the licence agreement. Otherwise, the department is entitled to terminate the agreement and the licensee shall immediately vacate the stall.
Details of the 2014 LNY Fairs, such as the public notice, location and layout of the fair venues, commodities allowed for sale at the fair stalls, open auction arrangements and related rules, and samples of the licence agreement and express warranty, are available at the FEHD website (www.fehd.gov.hk).
