Fatal traffic accident in Tai Po

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po in the small hours of today (October 29) in which a 28-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were killed.

     About 2.10am, a private car driven by a 28-year-old man was travelling along Bride's Pool Road towards Luk Keng. When reaching Mei Wui Road, the private car reportedly lost control and hit a tree on the roadside.

     The driver and a 28-year-old female passenger sustained multiple injuries. They were trapped inside the compartment and were rescued by firemen. The passenger was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 3.35am. The driver was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 4.27am.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
