In response to media enquiries, a spokesman for the Security Bureau said today (October 25), "Upon his request, the Security Bureau had a meeting this afternoon with the Manila City Councillor, Mr Bernardito Ang, on the Manila hostage-taking incident. At the meeting, Mr Ang briefed us on the resolution passed by the Manila City Council and his views on the resolution of the incident."

"We have liaised with the families of the deceased and the injured and listened to their views concerning the meeting. We have also relayed to the families of the deceased and the injured Mr Ang's request to have a meeting with them."
"When there is substantive progress, we will report to the public at appropriate juncture," the spokesman reiterated.
