****************************************************

The Process Review Panel (PRP) for the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today (October 25) published its annual report, covering the work of the PRP in 2012-13.

The PRP Chairman, Dr Moses Cheng, said, "In 2012-13, the PRP reviewed 58 completed or discontinued cases of the SFC covering various areas of its work, including authorisation of investment products, licensing of intermediaries, inspection of intermediaries, investigation and disciplinary action, handling of complaints, and corporate finance (including processing of listing applications). The PRP also made a number of observations and recommendations to the SFC, which would be conducive to the SFC's enhancement of procedures or guidelines in these areas."

"We are thankful to the SFC for their co-operation and support in facilitating the work of the PRP," he added.

"I am glad to note that following the PRP's findings, the SFC has undertaken to streamline workflow, review current performance pledges and enhance communication with clients," he said.

The PRP welcomes views from market participants and the public on the work of the PRP. They are encouraged to send their views to the PRP by email at prp@fstb.gov.hk.¡@

The annual report has been uploaded to the website of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (www.fstb.gov.hk/fsb/topical/afsreport.htm).
