The Commissioner for Heritage's Office (CHO) of the Development Bureau will hold three open days at King Yin Lei, a declared monument, on November 17 (Sunday) and December 7 and 8 (Saturday and Sunday). Admission is free.
A spokesman for the Development Bureau today (October 25) said, "As in the previous open days held this year, additional admission quotas will be reserved for non-profit making organisations (NPOs), and secondary school students as an extended activity to the 'Conserve and Revitalise @ Hong Kong Heritage - Liberal Studies Teaching Kit' published by the CHO.
"In view of the large number of requests from schools and NPOs received in the previous open days, we have set aside November 16 (Saturday) specifically for schools and NPOs to address their overwhelming demand."
A total of 10 800 tickets for these three public open days will be distributed to the public on a first-come, first-served basis on November 2 and 3 (Saturday and Sunday).
Distribution venues are as follows:
* Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Kowloon Park, Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon (from 10am to 6pm)
* Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, Hong Kong Park, 10 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong (from 10am to 5pm)
* Hong Kong Heritage Museum, 1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin, New Territories (from 2pm to 6pm on November 2 and 10am to 6pm on November 3 respectively)
Each open day at King Yin Lei will have two morning sessions, from 9.30am to 11am and 11am to 12.30pm, and two afternoon sessions, from 2pm to 3.30pm and 3.30pm to 5pm.
Each person can obtain a maximum of four tickets for any one session. Tickets that remain undistributed on November 3 will be distributed at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre from the following day (November 4). The Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre is open Mondays to Fridays (except Thursdays) from 10am to 6pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 7pm.
King Yin Lei is located at 45 Stubbs Road, Hong Kong. As no parking facilities are available, visitors are advised to use the following public transport to access the venue.
* New World First Bus Route No. 15 (Central - The Peak)
* New World First Bus Route No. 15B (Tin Hau Station - The Peak) (operates on Sundays and public holidays only)
* Green Minibus Route No. 26 (Lee Garden Road, Causeway Bay - King Yin Lei)
