Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

     Police today (October 22) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po on October 16 in which a 71-year-old man died.

     About 11am on October 16, a bus driven by a 45-year-old man was travelling along northbound Nam Cheong Street. When approaching the junction of Nam Cheong Street and Woh Chai Street, the bus reportedly knocked down the 71-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the male pedestrian was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 10.52pm on the next day (October 17).

     A 79-year-old female passenger was also injured and sent to Caritas Medical Centre after she fell down inside the bus.

     Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
