The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), Mr Xiang Junbo, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (October 21) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung welcomed Mr Xiang on his visit and expressed his thanks for the CIRC's continued support to the insurance industry in Hong Kong. He said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, in conjunction with the local insurance industry, has been making the best use of the policies and measures under the National 12th Five-Year Plan to consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre.
Mr Leung said he hopes that, through concerted efforts, Hong Kong could contribute to the country's development while fostering its own development.
