Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Sham Shui Po yesterday (October 12) afternoon in which an 83-year-old man was killed.

     At about 6.20pm, a private car driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along westbound Lai Chi Kok Road. When approaching Shek Kip Mei Street, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.23pm.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and was released on bail pending further enquiries.

     The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
