Progress of banking complaint cases of HKMA

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:

     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (October 11) the progress of its banking complaint cases at the end of September 2013. These cases include customer complaints about banking products or services as well as other cases referred by our banking departments and other regulators.

     In September 2013, 92 cases were received and 174 cases were completed. As at end September, the handling of 709 cases is in progress.

     A table summarising the progress of the banking complaint cases is attached.
