Grant approved for Mainland drought victims

The Government has accepted the advice of the Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee and approved a grant of $4.728 million from the Disaster Relief Fund to the Salvation Army for providing relief to drought victims in Hunan Province on the Mainland.
Announcing the grant today (October 11), a government spokesman said that the Committee hoped that the grant would help provide relief to the drought victims in Hunan Province. To ensure that the money would be used for the designated purposes, the relief agency will be asked to submit evaluation report and audited accounts on the use of the grant after the relief project has been completed.
