The Chairman of the Hospital Authority (HA), Mr Anthony Wu, today (October 11) announced the reappointment of Dr Leung Pak-yin as Chief Executive (CE) of the Authority for a term of three years with effect from November 8. Dr Leung's reappointment has been endorsed by the HA Board and approved by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
"Dr Leung has held the post of CE of the HA since November 2010, during which he has led the HA through numerous challenges including the rising expectations and demand for healthcare services due to the growing and ageing population, the impending need for redeveloping and modernising of hospital premises to meet the evolving mode of services due to technology advancement and changing disease patterns, and a heavier workload for clinical staff due to a shortage of healthcare workers," Mr Wu said.
Mr Wu is confident that Dr Leung will continue to lead the organisation to enhance its significant role in public healthcare for the health and well-being of the people of Hong Kong.
