Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, after attending a public function this morning (October 11):
Reporter: (on cholera cases)
Secretary for Food and Health: Cholera is a severe infectious disease, and therefore we are concerned about each and every case. In this particular instance, the two patients may have a common source (of infection), which is having taken some seafood bought from a market. Therefore, we are now investigating along this particular direction. Specimens have been taken from the market concerned. However, as a precautionary measure, we have also adopted sterilisation and disinfection for the two canteens where these two patients work in. And the workers in these two canteens will also be tested (if they are infected).
