Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in North Point

     Police today (October 9) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in North Point on October 5 in which a 25-year-old woman died.

     At about 12.13pm that day, a medium-goods-vehicle (MGV) driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along westbound Taikoo Shing Road. When reaching near 39 Taikoo Shing Road, it reportedly knocked down the 25-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was rushed to Eastern Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 4.16pm yesterday (October 8).

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death today (October 9). He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-December.

     Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.
