Fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok this morning (October 9) in which a 70-year-old man was killed.

     At about 8.20am, a private car driven by a 52-year-old man was travelling along northbound Canton Road. When turning right to Bute Street, it reportedly knocked down the 70-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, the 70-year-old man was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.05am.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
