Correctional Services officers stopped two inmates assaulting an inmate in Tai Lam Correctional Institution yesterday afternoon (October 6).
At about 5.20pm, two male inmates, aged 25 and 41, suddenly attacked a 44-year-old male inmate in the recreation compound. The officers immediately stopped the assault and separated them.
The trio were examined and treated in the institution's hospital. Among them, the victim and one of the assailants sustained minor injury while the other assailant sustained no injury. The case has been reported to the Police.
The two assailants were serving separate sentences for the offences of possession of dangerous drugs and burglary respectively, and the victim was sentenced for the offence of conspiracy to defraud.
