Mobile app promotes fitness, step by step

     Most people know daily exercise brings health benefits. In a fast-paced city like Hong Kong, work and life pressures often stand in their way on the road to fitness. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has introduced a fitness walking mobile application to help overcome these hurdles.

     When it ran a healthy exercise for all campaign last year, which included a physical fitness test for the community, the results were nothing to cheer about. The baseline indicator level of physical activity is to keep active at least 30 minutes a day, three times a week. More than half of Hong Kong people failed to meet this minimum standard.

     News.gov.hk today (October 6) introduces the department's fitness walking app in a story in both text and video versions.
