Voters called to take part in Hong Kong Arts Development Council Nomination Exercise
*********************************************************

The Home Affairs Bureau today (October 4) urged voters to actively take part in polling for the 2013 nomination of representatives of arts interests for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), to be held from October 6 to 7.

A spokesman for the Home Affairs Bureau said, "A total of 8 512 voters have registered in the Nomination Exercise for the HKADC this year. We look forward to the active participation of voters on the two polling days. Their votes will determine the list of representatives to be submitted to the Chief Executive for consideration of appointment to the HKADC for the next term commencing January 1, 2014. HKADC members will assist the Council in planning, promoting and supporting the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong."

Cross-arts interest voting will continue to be adopted this year. Voters from the 10 arts interests may cast votes for candidates standing for nomination in all of the 10 arts interests. Polling will take place from 8am to 10pm daily from October 6 to 7, 2013 at Mong Kok Community Hall, L2, Mong Kok Complex, 557 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok.
