Oil spill incident in waters near Kwai Chung Container Terminal 7

A spokesman for the Marine Department said today (October 3) that an oil slick covering an area approximately 5 metres by 10 metres was found in waters near Kwai Chung Container Terminal 7 in the small hours today. The Marine Department has tasked its staff with the clean-up operation. Oil samples for analysis by the Government Laboratory have been collected and the department will follow up on the source of the oil slick.
