SED continues official visit to Beijing (with photos)

     The Secretary for Education, Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, today (September 29) continued his official visit to Beijing.

     Mr Ng first went to the Beijing Municipal Education Commission where he met with its Director-General, Mr Xian Lianping, to exchange views on a variety of education issues, including the education reform and curriculum development in Hong Kong and Beijing as well as further educational exchanges and co-operation between the two places.

     Mr Ng then went on to meet with representatives of Hong Kong businessmen and professionals currently in Beijing to look into the opportunities and challenges that they encountered in the personal, family and business
aspects, as well as their views on education and manpower development. He also appealed for their support in providing mainland internship for Hong Kong students.

     In the meantime, the National Day Delegation from the Educational Sector of Hong Kong 2013 divided into groups to visit a number of primary and secondary schools as well as kindergartens, including Beijing National Day School, Beijing No.159 High School, Beijing Foreign Languages School, Beijing Normal University Kindergarten and Oriental Cambridge Kindergarten, for professional exchanges and class observation. The delegates will meet tonight for in-depth discussions as well as sharing and consolidating experiences.

     This year the National Day Delegation from the Educational Sector of Hong Kong comprises more than 100 education workers, with the aim to promote exchanges and co-operation between education workers of Hong Kong and Beijing for the benefit of learning and teaching as well as school curriculum development, and to enable Hong Kong education workers to see for themselves the latest developments in our country from multiple perspectives.
