Special traffic arrangements for National Day Flag Raising Ceremony

     Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II in Wan Chai on September 30 (Monday) and October 1 (Tuesday) to facilitate the rehearsal and holding of the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony.

A. Special traffic arrangements for rehearsal of the Flag Raising Ceremonyˇ]between 6.45am and 12.30pm on September 30ˇ^

- Traffic on eastbound Expo Drive will be intermittently held up to facilitate the parade; and
- The bus terminus, public bus parking spaces, private bus pick-up/drop-off area and coach parking area at Expo Drive East will be suspended.

B. Special traffic arrangements for the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony

     The following road closure and traffic diversion will be implemented between 5.30am and 11am on October 1:

1. Road closure

     Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central and Expo Drive East will be closed to all vehicular traffic except for vehicles with permit.

2. Traffic diversion

- Traffic along northbound Fleming Road heading towards Expo Drive East will be prohibited;
- Traffic along eastbound Convention Avenue cannot turn left to Expo Drive; and
- Traffic along westbound Convention Avenue cannot turn right to Expo Drive.

3. Suspension of bus terminus, taxi stand and parking spaces

- The coach parking spaces at Expo Drive East will be suspended from 10pm on September 30 to 11am on October 1;
- The bus terminus, public bus parking spaces and private bus pick-up/drop-off area at Expo Drive East will be suspended between midnight and 11am on October 1; and
- The taxi stand at Expo Drive will be suspended between 5.30am and 11am on October 1.

     Motorists are advised to take heed of traffic signs and follow the instruction of police at scene. Vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above might be towed away without prior notice.
