Show your care and support for social enterprises at Hong Kong Food Carnival
**********************************************************

Do you want to help the underprivileged to be self-reliant and extend your care to them? Let's take action now and patronise our social enterprise (SE) booths at the third Hong Kong Food Carnival.

To promote caring consumption, the Home Affairs Department (HAD) has arranged for three SEs funded by the Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership (ESR) Programme to take part in the Hong Kong Food Carnival, to be held from Friday (September 27) at the Kwai Chung Sports Ground.

The three SEs will offer a variety of natural and organic food at booth numbers F02 to F04. People purchasing products at the SE booths may get a free souvenir. The HAD will also set up a booth there to provide information on SEs. Details of the participating SEs are attached.

A spokesman for the HAD said the department arranged for social enterprises to participate in the Carnival so as to raise public awareness of social enterprises and encourage more people to use their products and services.

The third Hong Kong Food Carnival, organised by the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, is open from 11am to 8pm from September 27 to October 8. The normal admission fee is $10 but admission is free for senior citizens aged 65 or above, the disabled and children of one metre in height or less.

People are welcome to visit the following websites to learn more about SEs and the ESR Programme: www.social-enterprises.gov.hk and www.had.gov.hk/en/public_services/en_self_reli/.
