The Labour Department will hold a large-scale job fair at Tsuen Wan Town Hall on September 26 and 27.
A total of 52 organisations, mainly from the retail, catering and property management industries, offering about 4 500 vacancies, will participate at the fair. Twenty-six participating organisations will set up counters and conduct on-the-spot recruitment each day.
The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as beauty consultant, instructor, customer service associate, salesperson, cashier, shop assistant, waiter/waitress, security guard, driver, storekeeper and others. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).
More than 84 per cent of the vacancies are full-time jobs. Most vacancies offer monthly salaries ranging from $7,000 to $13,000. Over 97 per cent of the vacancies require a Secondary Six education level or below. Around 62 per cent are open to job seekers who may lack relevant experience.
Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. They can also register for employment services on the spot at the Labour Department's counter.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm at the Exhibition Gallery, 1/F, Tsuen Wan Town Hall, 72 Tai Ho Road, Tsuen Wan (MTR Tsuen Wan Station Exit A1 or MTR Tsuen Wan West Station Exit A2 or E2). Admission is free.
