Typhoon Usagi situation report (3)

     The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Southwest Gale or Storm Signal at 12.25am today (September 23) to replace the No. 8 Northwest Gale or Storm Signal. Usagi is gradually moving away from Hong Kong and continues to weaken in strength.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 3am, a total of 13 people, including nine males and four females, aged between 29 and 73, have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals.  Seven of them were admitted, while the other six were discharged after treatment.

     The 1823 Government Call Centre has received 69 reports of fallen trees as at 3am.

     As at 3.30am, the Home Affairs Department has opened 27 temporary shelters, with a total of 274 people seeking refuge at the shelters.

     On air traffic, 370 passenger flights have been cancelled and 76 delayed as at 3.30am.

     The Drainage Services Department has received two reports of flooding as at 3am. No report of landslide has been received.
